new glasgow
A contemporary gallery on Provost Street.
Studio 116 shows contemporary Atlantic Canadian art in downtown New Glasgow exhibitions, openings, and programs for established and emerging artists alike.
Why our gallery exists.
Pictou County has no shortage of talented artists, but few local venues to show contemporary work. Collectors travelled to Halifax; emerging painters and photographers had limited places to exhibit close to home.
Studio 116 opened to fill that gap. Named for its address at 116 Provost Street, the gallery occupies a bright downtown space dedicated to contemporary Atlantic Canadian art, open to first-time visitors and collectors alike.
It also functions as a venue: opening receptions feature live music and local food markets, and the gallery works with regional businesses to support artists directly.

The space.
A single light-filled room in downtown New Glasgow, quiet for daytime viewing and reconfigured for evening openings with live music and food markets. The hang changes with every exhibition.
